I absolutely love this story, and half way through this book I just knew I would have to continue with the rest of the books in this trilogy. This is the first book and it does end in a cliffhanger, as does book 2. The story is on a par with Fifty Shades, minus the BDSM (this one might even be better). Great characters, both primary and secondary.It's one I could read again and I highly recommend it. However, save a little money and buy the boxed set. You won't want to wait to start each book, and in addition the boxed set has bonus chapters you won't want to miss. I have read the complete trilogy and loved it from start to finish and want to read more about all the interesting characters introduced here.

Wow, just wow. This is the first time I have read books by Julie A. Richman, but it will not be the last. Needing Moore is one of the most riveting series I have read this year. Schooner Moore and Mia Silver are complex characters, and so compelling. I am so glad I found these books.
This first book starts out with Schooner on his 43rd birthday. That took me aback because heroes are normally in their late twenties. The book quickly goes back to the 1980s when he is an eighteen-year-old starting his first year of college. He meets Mia and CJ at the freshmen orientation. CJ is the typical beauty queen he usually dates. Mia is the exact opposite.
Schooner soon finds himself in a relationship with CJ but is drawn to quirky Mia in a way that has never happened before. There is such a compelling pull between the two, and I found it so fascinating.
As the story progresses, I really wanted Schooner and Mia to end up together. This is not a light-hearted read. It is emotional and Schooner has plenty of flaws, but they are flaws that are real and fit an eighteen-year-old.
The story jumps to present day and picks up with Schooner married to CJ with two children when he finds Mia on Facebook. When he learns what CJ did that sent Mia running all those years before, he immediately contacts Mia. He leaves CJ and enters into a relationship with Mia.
Mia and Schooner’s passion is combustible just as it was when they were teenagers. Ms. Richman writes with deep emotion and kept me turning the pages as quickly as possible. Thank goodness, I knew upfront this is a trilogy and that the first book ends with a cliff-hanger. Be prepared. Happy reading!

Overall Schooner is celebrating his 43rd birthday or should I say that his wife CJ is celebrating his birthday with a get together of OC Housewives. Schooner is miserable with where his life is at in the moment, so he goes out onto the deck where is old college roommate Beau is sitting, smoking a joint. Out of the blue, Beau asks Schooner about the girl in freshmen class that they hung-out in the woods because he just had a facebook fight with her on some guys wall. That brings Schooner back to freshman year in college and all the love and heartbreak that came with it. It all start with college orientation when Schooner sees a beautiful brown hair, green eyed girl and can tell there is something special about her. At first their relationship is slow coming because his focus is on a beautiful bombshell CJ and tennis. Half way through the year the school has a Interim where the students spend a month just focusing on one course and that's where Schooner and Mia finally make there love connection. With most of the school, including CJ gone, Schooner finds himself really opening up and finally being himself. Mia and Schooner start dating and he promises her that once CJ comes back that he will end things with her and they can be together. But things don't go as planned and Schooner ends up hurting Mia and goes into a downward spiral himself. Something really big happens that brings them together again and Schooner makes all these promises and at the end of the year Mia leaves him and he hasn't a clue why. He's heartbroken and spends his summer abroad with doctors and that's where he finds his passion and the company he has now that hes older. Fast forward 24 years and Schooner is looking Mia up on Facebook and sends her a friend request. Mia was floored and instantly accepts and that's starts their whirlwind love affair again. So now your going to have to read the book yourself to figure what happens now, but i promise it is well worth it. Mia and Schooner's relationship is beautiful and loving, but there are going to be a few obstacles that are going to stand in their way of true happiness. The ending was a total MIND BLOWN moment and I hope that Schooner's son gets the ass kicking he deserves. The only wish I had with this book, is that there was more CJ getting a bet down drama in their future. I felt like the phone call was just the tip of the iceberg and i really want Mia to give that woman her just desserts. I really liked that the author brought the book back to the beginning so you had a real understanding of the relationship between them. I can't wait to read the next book and see Mia's side and her 24 years apart from Schooner.

Yet another book that I got so emotional about, I wanted to throw it. It very nearly made me cry in a couple of places.
One of the things that I really liked about this book is that it didn’t string the reader along with little hints as to what happened in the past, it brings us back to the past all together to see how they meet and what happened. It lets us fall in love when they did, experience what they did, and get attached to them so that when it brings the reader back to the present, you’re just hoping with everything you have that everything works out.
Usually if a book is seeming to get a little long, I’ll check to see how many chapters I have, almost like looking at the clock during a long work day or a class that is seeming the drag on. Not this one. I was actually surprised by how far I was when I noticed the chapter, I was hooked.
Another thing that I really enjoyed about this is that it was divided into two books with the same amount of chapters and in the point of view of the love interest. We already knew how he felt and I’m so glad it switched over to her so we could experience what she was going through.
I could not put this down to save my life, except for at work and this was all I could think about. I actually stayed up past the usual time that I’m asleep to finish this thing. I was on a rollercoaster of emotions and I was physically reacting, jumping up and almost yelling at the book near the end.
Give this book a chance and I hope that you’ll love it as much as I do. I’m excited about this series and this author.
